Texas Caviartexas-caviar

Texas Caviar is a great dip or garish for Mexican diners and taco bars. We have this two or three times a year at church and probably 3 or 4 times a year at family gatherings. My boys will even spoon it in a tortilla and make a burrito.



1 – Large Jar of Picante Sauce
2 – 16 oz Cans Black Eyed Peas
1 – 16 oz Can Hominy, Drained
1 – Cup Diced Green Bell Pepper
1 – Cup Chopped White Onion
1 – Cup Chopped Tomato
1/2 – Cup Chopped Cilantro
1/4 – Cup Chopped Jalapeno
1 – TBSP Sugar
1 – TBSP Salt
2 – TBSP Black Pepper
2 – TBSP Ground Cumin



Mix all ingredients together well. Cover and refrigerate for 24 hours.
