Easy Shepherd’s Pie

Easy Shepherd’s Pie

Shepherd’s pie is one of my favorite dishes because it’s a meal all by itself. This is an old time recipe that always seems to keep coming back. I started making it to trick my son into eating some veggies, but into snowballed and now it is requested at least twice a month. I simplified the recipe to make it faster and easier. My son now 15 can whip one of these up without my help anymore. That’s pretty great for me to get a night off every once in a while.

1 lb Ground Deer or Beef
1 Can Veg-All
1 Cup Chopped Onion
1 Cream of Mushroom Soup
1 Package of Buttered Mashed Potatoes
Dash of Paprika

Brown meat and drain. In a large bowl, mix meat, veg-all, onion and soup. Pack mix in pie pan. Mix 2 cups warm water with the mashed potatoes and cover meat mix with potatoes. Cover at 350 for 20 minutes. Sprinkle a dash of paprika on top. You can also sprinkle cheese and chives on the top if desired.
