I love to make this for potlucks. Crock pot recipes are awesome for potlucks. Especially, church potlucks where you can cook it ahead of time and turn it on high in between Sunday school and church and its piping hot for the lunch or dinner. Yeah, it rocks. I’m trying yo talk a carpenter at our church into building a buffet table with a power strip running down the middle for crock pots. Any enough abut my love for crock pots. This recipe is a great way to keep spaghetti warm and not have sticky noodles.
2 lbs ground beef
1 small onion, chopped or minced
2 tsp oregano
1 tsp salt
2 small or 1 large clove garlic
2 tsp chili powder
(2) 15 oz cans tomato sauce
1 can (about six cups) tomato juice
2-4 tbls brown sugar
Brown the first 6 ingredients together. Drain fat and put the meat in the crock pot. Add the remaining ingredients to the crock pot. Cook on low 6-8 hours or high 4-5 hours. Turn to high for last half-hour of cooking and add 16 oz spaghetti noodles, broken in half.
