TARTE AU SUCRE JAUNE

brownsugar2TARTE AU SUCRE JAUNE

A fancy name for an simple pie. The Amish people call this pie MILICHE FLITCHE (Poor Man’s Pie), and add a bit of cinnamon. The Cajuns top it with Meringue. Down south, we call it BROWN SUGAR PIE. My grandma had it listed under brown sugar pie. I decided to try it, and really liked it. The family likes the french name because it sounds bourgie, short for Bourgeoisibre, pronounced Boo-zhee. this pie is great for potlucks because its super cheap and makes two.
