We all know how much I love crock pot dishes for pot lucks. And this is one of those fabulous dishes, you can set and forget. A fabulous dish and you didn’t even get anything one your Sunday dress. A funny thing is I had never heard of beef tips and rice until I was at college and they served it in the cafeteria. It was not the best beef tips and rice I┬áhave ever had, but it did open me up to trying the dish. this has noodles or┬árice, however the flavor is phenomenal.

1/2 cup flour

1 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon pepper

4 pounds sirloin tips

1/2 cup green onion, chopped

2 4 oz. cans mushroom, sliced, drained or 1/2 lb. mushrooms, sliced

1 10 3/4 ounce can beef broth

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

2 teaspoons tomato paste or ketchup

1/4 cup water

3 tablespoons flour

noodles, buttered or rice

Directions:

Combine 1/2 cup flour with the salt and pepper and toss with beef cubes to coat thoroughly. Place in Crock Pot. Add onions and mushrooms. Combine beef broth, Worcestershire sauce and tomato paste. Pour over beef and vegetables; stir well. Cover and cook on Low setting for 8 to 12 hours.
One hour before serving, turn to High setting. Make a smooth paste of red wine and 3 tablespoons flour; stir into Crock Pot, mixing well. Cover and cook until thickened.
Serve over hot buttered noodles.
