Beef Diablo Crockpot
This is a spicy beef roast recipe that is awesome in a crock pot. It does take a day to cook so I like to mix it up in the morning and cook all day if its for supper or cook it over night, if it is for lunch the next day. The recipe calls for beef, but you know we love our deer. I have made it with deer roast and it is tasty. I have a power pressure cooker and it takes about 40 to 60 minutes in there. It is a great dish for New Years Day because you can put it in before you go to bed and it is ready at lunch time.
1 pound beef pot roast, boneless
3/4 teaspoon chili sauce or tabasco
3 potatoes, peeled and sliced or 1 can sliced potatoes
3/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 onion, sliced
1/4 teaspoon vinegar
1 1/2 teaspoon flour
1/4 teaspoon sugar
3/4 teaspoon mustard
Trim all excess fat from roast. Place potatoes and onion in bottom of crockpot. Make a smooth paste of flour, mustard, chili sauce, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar and sugar. Spread over top of roast (cut roast in half, if necessary, to fit easily). Place roast in crockpot on top of potatoes and onions. Cover and cook on LOW setting for 10 to 12 hours (on HIGH setting for 5 to 6 hours).
